Canon Powershot A640 10.0 Megapixel Digital Camera
We love this little camera, an amazingly good
package for the money, with a 1cm macro close focus distance and a host
of manual controls that work excellently.
It also has a fantastic swivel
screen (a feature of the A640) which is enormously useful when you're down
in the dirt under a bush trying to get a jewel dewdrop on a petal...

I recommend the longer focal length macro
/ micro lenses, like the 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor Close-up Lens,
are the ones I prefer from a creative point of view.
They flattens the background far more than the shorter focal length lenses and
if ultra close-up macro digital photography is what you want then the new Micro-Nikkor
105mm lens is one of the greats!
Not cheap but smooth, sharp and wonderful to use. Enjoy!
