At least they’re all planted along the border of the lawn so we have a starting point. This one we spent at least 5 minutes staring at grass before we actually saw it. Dappled light glinting off morning dew drops.

Finally, I have found the time to create this blog. I’ve been wanting to be able to use a blog to showcase flower pictures through the seasons for years and now finally I’ve done it. Phew! Unbelievable how the little things sometimes just slip by unnoticed other than an irritating niggle trying to gain my attention at the back of the brain somewhere …

We’re about to enter the gorgeousness of the Swartland winter, where all living things turn green from the dead brown of summer. I LOVE THIS TIME. The transition from burnt summer flagging under the weight of extreme heat to the beauty of fresh new growth, buds pushing through the earth everywhere you look. A thing of wonder. And the drive from Cape Town, North along the N7, revealing fields of emerald folding in and out.

My mission is to start showcasing all these stunning changes over the next few months till we hit SPRING and what a time that is. Carpets of wild flowers right across our property. New scents in the air. New birth all around.

Fantastic. I look forward to the challenge.
